    We’re Passionate About The Work We Do, And The Clients We Serve.

    After being involved in fitness for nine years, I became increasingly frustrated at the poor standards in the industry. In my experience, working in both large and small facilities, I realized that all too often sales numbers were more important than member results.

    One day while sitting at one of these big box gyms, I asked myself if I would ever feel comfortable sending my mother (who does not exercise) to workout without me. Without hesitation, my answer was NO! Why would I ever send her blindly into a gym without any real guidance and support, basically setting her up for failure?

    That was when I decided it was time to do something about it. I wanted to create an experience that put the focus back where it belongs- on the client. Two months later Blue Ocean Fitness was born. I didn’t have a business plan but I had a vision and I knew that if I had the best interest of the client at heart, everything would fall into place.

    To this day, our clients are still our top priority. We exist to change lives by helping people feel, move and look their best!

    Three years later and I'm sticking with the program. The trainers have helped me work around skiing and other injuries to keep me on track. I'm measurably stronger and and have lowered my heart rate for a given level of effort. Scheduling sessions there hold me accountable for my fitness and add structure to retired life. I plan to continue going to Blue Ocean for many more years. Original review: The trainers are relentlessly positive and create individual programs based on their client's current condition and goals. There is no body shaming at Blue Ocean: they cultivate an attitude that everyone is there to improve their fitness and that's more important than how anyone looks now. They include a broad range of exercise activities to strengthen one's entire body and improve balance and agility, all while maintaining an aerobic heart rate. The variety also helps avoid monotony. Although they offer one on one training, the standard method is semi-private, in which a trainer rotates among clients, demonstrating an exercise, verifying a client's technique and tracking resistance, repetitions or time. I've been introduced to heavy ropes, TRX straps, kettle bells and medicine balls to go along with the more traditional dumbbells, rowing and skiing machines, and bikes. Each season begins and ends with stretching. There are regularly scheduled group sessions for aerobic exercise, strength and stretching. I'm entering my third month of training and I couldn't be happier. The trainers have worked with me to recover my strength after rotator cuff surgery and two years of working, and not working out. Their approach strengthens my shoulder without endangering the repair and minimizes the discomfort from my arthritic knee. The folks at Blue Ocean are getting me ready to return to downhill skiing and ice hockey, and I can feel the results.

    This is a gym with vision and a staff that is passionate about helping clients attain health and longevity. I came in on a trial month offer and found my new "gym home." The semi-personal training model works really well and appointments make it easier to stay consistent. Come and check it out!

    After driving by every day after work, I just stopped by to check this place out. I had been strength training in my home gym but missing the accountability of a coach. That was over a year ago and it has become my gym home since that day. The trainers keep it interesting, challenging and fun. I cannot recommend this place more and encourage you stop by like I did. John Farkas has developed something really special here.

    It’s been 4 years since I posted a review for the place that keeps me strong, sane and happy. I’m still 60 pounds down and as I’m now in my 60’s it’s become even more evident just how much I need and appreciate Blue Ocean Fitness. This place is unlike any other gym I’ve known (and I have been to many). John Farkas and his staff are exceptional - everything about the place is geared toward excellence, community, and helping people become the best version of themselves thru all of the ups and downs of life. At this thanksgiving season I want to again say how grateful I am that this place exists. Blue Ocean Fitness really has changed my life (physically, emotionally, relationally) in so many tangible ways. I will continue to invite anyone and everyone to try this place.
